Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu meet our staff and transfer to hotel.
On arrival in Kathmandu airport our guide will receive and transfer you to respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu area at Thamel the main tourist centre and provide you with necessary information regarding your trek and stay in Nepal with Guide Nepal Trek.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs.
Mornings, taking a scenic flight to Lukla with overwhelming views of parallel mountain range, after 30 mins of great flight arriving at Lukla, with short break carry on trekking towards Phakding village for overnight stop passing through many farm village and farm lands a moderate walk with few short ups overlooking beautiful scenery along the route to Phakding located by the glacier fed Dudh Kosi river.
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 05 hrs.
After a nice morning with the sound of the river, walk continues with a gradual pace most of the way crossing few long suspension bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc, Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate after checking the park permit, morning walk ends at Jorsalle village for lunch, from here walking on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill haul for few hours to Namche Bazaar overlooking first view of Mt. Everest and other surrounding snow capped peaks, finally reaching at the famed Namche Bazaar, where there are facilities like good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, money change and banks, Namche will be flooded with locals and trekkers on Saturday Market.
Day 04: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
A perfect an ideal spot for rest and free day, a necessary stop here for proper acclimatization before heading higher area, at Namche one can relax or take a short hike to Everest View Hotel which takes almost 2 hours or walk up to the top of Namche for better views of Everest, Ama Dablam and other peaks and landscapes with a visit of interesting museum near the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter.
Day 05: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05hrs.
From Namche morning walk leads up for 30 mins to the ridge with aerial view of Namche Bazaar and overlooking beautiful towering peaks, walk is easier on the gradual winding scenic path, then heading downhill to Imjatse river at Phunge-Tenga for lunch, after a break here walking uphill through quaint woodlands of rhododendron, pines, firs trees with marvelous mountain views the climb after few hours reaches at a beautiful spot of Thyangboche with its famous Buddhist monastery with magnificent panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwande and majestic peak of Ama Dablam.
Day 06: Trek to Pheriche 4,243 m - 05 hrs.
Morning catching the mountain panorama, walk leads downhill for few hours to the bridge over Imjatse River, after the bridge walking on open country where the tree lines disappears only for few sparse vegetation and juniper bushes, walking on the gentle uphill for a while to reach at Pangboche village at 3,900 meters, the last permanent village before Pheriche and Dingboche and beyond, from here a slow climb to Somara for lunch and continue walk on the nice terrain with last climb to Pheriche village for overnight stop, located in the windy valley with picturesque panorama of snow capped mountains including the North Face of Ama Dablam, this spread out village situated beneath impressive peaks of Cholatse peak 6,440 m and Taweche peak 6,542 m.
Day 07: Trek to Lobuche 4,930m - 05 hrs.
After a peasant time at Pheriche morning walk begins with a good walk on the Pheriche valley with excellent mountain views, and then with slow up most of the way to Thugla for lunch where the Khumbu glacier ends in a raging river and the route from Pheriche / Dingboche joins, after a fine break here a steep up for an hour to Thulga pass where there are memorials of climbers died in mountaineering expeditions to Mt. Everest, Lhotse and other high mountains. From here a nice pleasant walk brings to Lobuche for overnight stop.
Day 08:Trek to Gorak Shep 5,170 m and Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and return to Gorakshep - 06 hrs.
Today towards our final destination and highlight of this marvelous journey to Everest Base Camp, walk leads on the gentle up trail for few hours then with short steep climb in between to Gorakshep walking on glacier and moraine, on reaching Gorakshep where there are 3-4 lodges beneath the towering Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar our walk continues towards east for few hours to Everest Base Camp here overlooking the Khumbu glacier and the notorious Kuhmbu Ice Fall, after being on the highest mountain base retrace the journey back to Goarkshep for overnight halt.
Day 09: Hike to Kalapathar5,545 m trek to Chukung 4,740m - 06 hrs.
Starting early morning for a hike to the top of Kalapathar at 5,545 meters the highest point of this adventure, walk leads up for few hours offering tremendous views of surrounding snow capped mountains as far to the horizon including Mt. Everest at close distance and beneath the towering lofty peak of Pumori. After a great moment return back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk to Thugla, from here on the new route towards Imjatse valley descend on the flat valley, this area can be windy in the afternoon after a nice pleasant walk reaching at Chukung for overnight stop.
Day 10: Trek to Island / Imjatse Peak Base Camp 4,970m - 04 hrs.
From Chukung walk leads to our major destination towards South East Imjatse valley at Parsya Gyab and at Island Peak Base Camp, walk leads to a steep up on the moraine ridge on the left side of Lhotse glacier from here following small glacial streams to the snout of Imja glacier and reaching to set our first camp of this at base camp at Pareshaya Gyab with entire afternoon with rest for acclimatization and for sorting out climbing gear for the climb.
Day 11: Rest day at Base Camp.
A necessary acclimatization and rest day at this height at 4,970 meters, our guide will brief and inform with you some techniques, skills, for the climb to Island / Imjatse Peak, with time to relax and prepare for the next day and marvel the surrounding mountain views.
Day 12: Trek & Climb to High Camp 5,400 m - 03 hrs.
After a good rest at base camp, walking further up to set High Camp which will be better to summit Island / Imjatse peak, after a strenuous climb of few hours reaching at glacier and moraine on the south-east of Island Peak leading between two ridges and climb to the high camp beneath a small hanging glacier at 5, 280 meters, rest of the afternoon relax and preparations for the climb next day.
Day 13: Climb Island Peak 6,189m and return to base camp - 06 hrs.
The highlight and aim of this great adventure starting very early before dawn and then climbing on snow and icy slopes, which is quite steep with technical sections to reach Island Peak summit; our guide will make the route fixing ropes where necessary for this great climb to the summit top, after the final ascend to the top of the summit with great spirit and feeling high, marvel the surrounding overwhelming views from top of the summit overlooking striking panorama that encircles with world’s highest Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Lhotse 8,501 m, Mt. Ama-Dablam 6,856 m, Mt. Makalu 8, 463 m, Chamlang and Baruntse peaks in the far distance, after great life time experience head back on the same route to base camp.
Day 14:Reserve day in case of unfavorable weather condition
An extra day as contingency or reserve day in case of unfavorable weather conditions, if all goes well this spare can be used on the way before Dingboche or at Namche Bazaar.
Day 15: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m - 05 hrs.
After a great successful adventure to Island / Imjatse Peak, morning walk leads to a long descend to Dingboche after Chukung walking along the side of Imjatse River through a small place of Bibre and to Dingboche for overnight stop in the comfort of cozy nice lodge after being in tents for few days.
Day 16: Trek to Thyangboche - 05 hrs.
Return journey is much easier losing altitude every few hours, walking downhill with few short ups to Pangboche and then to the bridge before a steep 2 hours climb back to Thyangboche entering into woodlands reaching at Thyangboche for overnight stop.
Day 17: Trek to Monjo 2,860m - 06 hrs.
After a great time in the high mountains and valley, walk descend to Imjatse river then with a steep climb for an hour to Lobesa, from here on the normal gradual path with short ups and downs to Namche Bazaar, a nice pleasant break here and back to Dudh Kosi river valley and back to Monjo for overnight stop.
Day 18: Trek to Lukla - 04 hrs.
Morning walk on the best pleasant pathmost of the wayreaching at Phakding from here retracing the walk back to Lukla with the last climb for an hour, on reaching Lukla celebration with fellow trekkers and staff.
Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
From Lukla taking an early morning scenic flight back to Kathmandu with overwhelming views of mountains from the plane after landing at Kathmandu domestic airport, our staff transfers you back to hotel around Thamel area with rest of the day free at leisure.
Day 20: In Kathmandu free day with sightseeing tour.
We have reserved this extra day in Kathmandu in case of flight delay or cancellation at Lukla due to unfavorable bad weather, if all goes well a free day, one can book for sightseeing tour for the day at places of interest.
Day 21: International departure for home ward bound.
After a memorable and fantastic time with Guide Nepal Trek and in the Nepal high Himalaya, preparation for the final departure to the airport as per your international flight time, our staff will transfer you to the airport from this amazing Himalayan country Nepal.
